Totto-chan was very sad.
She was in 3rd grade now and she liked Tai-chan a lot.
He was clever and good at physics. He studied English, and it was he who taught her the English word for fox."Totto-chan," he had said, "do you now what the English word kor Kitsune is? It's 'Fox' "
"Fox."
Totto-chan had luxuriated in the sound of that word all day long. After that, the first thing she always did when she got to the classroom-in-the-train was to sharpen all the pencils in Tai-chan's pencil box as beautifully as she could with her penknife. She didn't bother about her own, which she just hacked at with her teeth. In spite of all that, Tai-chan had spoken roughly to her.
It happened during lunchbreak.
"Totto-chan!" Tai-chan's voice sounded cross, and she stopped, startled. Pausing for breath, Tai-chan said, "When I grow up, I'm not going to marry you, no matter how much you ask me to." So saying, he walked off, his eyes on the ground. Totto-chan stood dazed, watching until he and his large head disappeared from view. That head full of brains that she admired so much. That head that looked so much bigger than his bodythe children used to call him "The Improper Fraction." Totto-chan put her hands in her pocket and thought. She could not remember doing anything to annoy him.
In desperation she talked it over with her classmate Miyo-chan. After listening to Totto-chan, Miyo-chan said, maturely, "Why, of course! It's because you threw Tai-chan out of the ring today at sumo wrestling. It's not suprising he flew out of thhe ring he did because his head's so heavy. But he's bound to be still mad at you." Totto-chan regretted it with all her heart. Yes, that was it. What on earth made her beat the boy she liked so much she sharpened his pencils everyday?
But it was too late.
She could never be his bride.
"I'm going to sharpen his pencils all the same," Totto-chan decided. "after all, I love him."

din blog abt camp ytd cos i was just not in the mood. but now im in the typing and jamming keyboard moood (x
the guides camp totally rocked lahs. i was just so glad the whole patrol was present (x we started out with patrol corner, and rachel kept laughing throughout. lol. and she was telling me about my darling mortal hilllary! she said hillary was nice and crazy, and then that kind of reminded me of myself (x then we had this war game, whereby we all were different animals eating each other lol. i was the snake okay. and snakes are supposed to be like fierce and poisonous right. but i ended up in jail most of the time cos whenever i catch someone else, i get eaten up -.- and vinna yip kai mun kept preying on me lors. lol she's just one level higher than me. LION! ahh and whenever i came out of jail that girl will just suddenly run up to me. then im in jail again. maybe i spent most of the time in jail. lol but that's quite true though. stayed there and waited for 3 minutes. then when i went out i had to go in again. VINNNNAAAAA~ denise was an elephant lors. i rmb asking her when the game just started and she said she was an elephant. and i din believe lahs! and then turned out that she really is an elephant *smacks forehead* our elephant was yanshan. haha.. she kind of got chased around by mice alot. poor girl -pats her back-
then we had our lunch. sat in patrols, and i was opposite xinyuan. she was removing all her carrots from the fried rice, and i was like "EAT EAT EAT!" lol but in the end she only ate a few chunks of carrots. and guess who volunteered to finish them up. -nods- yess its me. now i've got a phobia of carrots okay. -_-" but at least mynah cleared up all our food. including all the chillis, courtesy of yvonne tan (: we kept picking out chillis and putting them into yvonne's styrofoam box. then she just ate them up. good girl!
outdoor cooking was fun (x(x mynah and kingfisher combined and shared food. woah i was so proud of our pits. they were SQUAREd okay. perfectly squared. then we started cooking our spaghetti and foodstuff. lol since the seniors were all in charge of the fire, only the sec 2s and sec1s were left to prepare the food. (denise excluded. she was managing the fire) so we were washing the food, then marinating the fish. haha our fish was nice. thanks to me and yvonne! i spreaded butter on the fish, the yvonne massaged it with salt (: AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE SUPER DELICOUS (:(: yummmeee. after the main course we started roasting marshmallows. got some from yenyen's patrol. thankews!
then we played this "secret society" game. my ringleader was yijun. and our answer was "oh i love mango pudding" (: but i din get to attend any meetings. cos denise and yen saw me and yunting walking together and sent us to JAIL. and i spent the rest of my time there. we were going to confess lehs. we were going to say we were from "school rocks like totally". lol and me and cheryl wong decided to say that Charmaine su was the ring leader. but in the end no one listened to us confess -.- but when the game ended and everything was revealed, charmaine was reallly the ringleader of "school rocks like totally". (: lol that's so psychic!
then we had movie screening. "pay it forward" heard its a nice show but when i tried to watch it i was too distracted. so in the end i din really understand it though. after singing taps we went to bed. but i dno why i couldnt sleep. pratically spent most of the night staring at my patrol members slping (:
next morning during morning exercise i sort of held hands with denise. then found out she was burning hot. so i kept telling her she was having a fever. and in the end she really had a fever! haish.. then she went home. DENISE IF YOU ARE READING THIS. we missed you so much during camp. and everyone was worried. are you okay now? drink all your medicine and drink water too! i dun care if you keep going to the toilet or not DRINK WATER! and get well sooon!
we had patrol lunch that day. mynah and kingfisher went to scotts food court. and i was savouring my yummy yami yogurt. but rachel kept complaining i was tempting her. so i started licking the yogurt really really slowly. tempt her more!
campfire was very fun (X(X before it started, me and yanshan were shouting across the parade square to test whether people can hear our voices. at first i was calling to yunting. but ailin heard and she replied. then after that i started shouting across to talk to ailin (: haha at least she can hear. our campfire item was nice. one of my lines were damn chim, but really very meaninful. "if you love someone as a friend or as a sibling or as something, you don't judge by habits. you will learn who they really are, accept their faults and change them for the better" i dun think merely memorising that line and saying it out is enough though. i guess i'll keep that in my head and start practising it. then we had our mynah cheer!

we had guides own in the "bedroom". then after that we were supposed to have mini patrol corner. but alot of us were tired and all that so i brought my recruits over to yunting's sleeping area and suggested a combined patrol corner. yunting was so poor thing. it was only she and her sec one. but her sec one's nice. she was really fun to talk to (:(: then we moved over to join nattay, izza, cheryl, yingqi, valerie, weiting and others. rachel and valerie started telling dirty jokes. lol but we weren't that freaked out. lol (:(: anw rachel and valerie said hillary has a boyfriend. and valerie wants me to tell her angel that she herself is crazy. lol ANDREA ARE YOU READING THIS? (x and im so sry andrea i sort of leaked out ur name to ur mortal but i hope she wasn't listening!
